Neil is Head of the firm’s Employment Practice.
Neil specialises in employment law and industrial relations and advises clients across various industries. He acts for and advises multinationals, corporates, NGOs, SMMEs and individuals.
He has extensive experience in employment law disputes and has litigated successfully in all of South Africa's major industrial tribunals and Courts, including the Labour Courts and Constitutional Court. His primary focus, however, is to partner with clients to offer strategic advice and to resolve disputes quickly and cheaply.
Neil's areas of interest and expertise include strike law, restructuring exercises and collective bargaining. He has had extensive interactions with Unions and has successfully managed and advised on several major disputes, restructuring exercises, collective bargaining processes and strikes.
Neil lectures on various aspects of employment law and regularly publishes articles and opinion pieces in magazines, news media and academic journals. He was appointed as a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State in 2017 and has sat as an acting Judge of the Labour Court in 2018 and 2020.
Neil also served as a committee member for the SASLAW Gauteng Chapter during 2020 and 2021.
